YUNNAN

Yunnan is a province in Southwest China sharing its frontiers with Tibet, Guizhou, Sichuan and Guangxi provinces, but also with Vietnam and Myanmar. Mékong River, the Red River and Salouen River cross the province. The climate is famous as the best one in China, hence its capital city's nickname, Kunming, 'eternal spring' city. The province is land of a wide variety of landscapes, from the arid plateau and high mountains in the North at Tibet's frontier, to Xishuangbana's tropical jungle.

But Yunnan's wealth can above all be found in its amazing amount of ethnic minority villages which creates a real mosaic of minorities. We can meet Yi, Bai, Hani, Zhuang, Dai, Achang, Hui, and numerous other groups of people.
