Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous province is a located in Southwest China. This province shares its frontiers with the provinces of Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan and Guangdong and boarders Vietnam to the north.
Guangxi is situated on the Tonkin Golf and is crossed by the famous, beautiful Li river, lined with dramatic, strangely shaped karst mountains. These are the same mountains often depicted in Chinese watercolors. The province hosts an enjoyable subtropical climate, almost year round.
One third of Guangxi population is from the Zhuang minority, hence its special status of Autonomous Zhuang Prefecture. However, you may also meet people of the Yao, Dong or Gelao minorities as well.
